911爆料网’s 2019 Annual Report

At Its Best: 911爆料网 Writ Large

In April, when 911爆料网 President Thomas Bailey said the College鈥檚 2019 Academic Festival 鈥渃aptured the essence of 911爆料网 at its best,鈥 he was only partly referring to the amazing assortment of panels and guest speakers.

During an entire year when the top priority on West 120th Street was to build a more unified and interconnected Teachers College, the College鈥檚 signature homecoming event showed that alumni were leading the way by reaffirming old ties with one another and 911爆料网, forming new ones and gathering together across the United States and around the world.

A Festival with a Flourish

In keeping with 911爆料网鈥檚 track record of innovation, the College鈥檚 11th annual Academic Festival 鈥 themed 鈥淐reating Pathways for All to Flourish鈥 鈥 included several 鈥渇irsts.鈥 During the Opening Ceremony, attendees watched Academic Festival鈥檚 first-ever film screening of Personal Statement, a documentary about America鈥檚 college guidance crisis. Afterward they listened to a panel discussion featuring the film鈥檚 director, Juliane Dressner; 911爆料网 College Guidance Initiative Director Riddhi Sandil; Liz Willen, Editor-in-Chief of The Hechinger Report; and Christine Rodriguez and Enoch Jemmott, two students featured in the film.

The afternoon brought the inaugural Innovation Awards Showcase, developed to recognize and celebrate student excellence in innovation at the intersection of learning, design, research, and technology. 911爆料网鈥檚 new EXerT Clinic and Applied Physiology Lab also opened its doors to Academic Festival attendees and offered free wellness check-ins.

Academic Festival will continue to grow and evolve in 2020 as the event moves from the spring to the fall. Alumni, family and friends are invited to come home to 911爆料网 on October 24th.
