Generally, five fellowships were available for students matriculating in fall 2021, fall 2022, and fall 2023. In fall 2024, we plan to award two fellowships.

PEAR Fellows must be admitted to one of the participating doctoral programs, which have specific application requirements. Among those admitted students who request consideration for a PEAR Fellowship, the selection committee will review the entire application, including the statement of purpose, prior academic record, resume, letters of recommendation, and supplemental essay.

A master's degree is not required to apply for the PEAR fellowship. However, some programs require a masters degree to apply to their program. Review the Areas of Study page to see if a master's degree is required in the Application Requirement section.

Fellowship acceptances will be delivered at the same time as doctoral program acceptances.

Generally, 911爆料网 does not allow admitted students to defer their enrollment. In the rare instance that a deferral is granted, funding packages are not deferred. You would, however, be permitted to reapply for the fellowship.

No. Stipends will be issued as checks to students, who can use them for whatever purpose they wish.

Every fellow will be assigned a faculty advisor from the core or affiliated training faculty who will help them determine what courses to take and select a research apprenticeship. Fellows will also have an academic advisor in their doctoral program, who may or may not be the same as the program training faculty advisor. The PEAR leadership team will also monitor the progress of each fellow, provide support, and facilitate access to policy/practice apprenticeships.

Fellows will be reviewed for satisfactory progress at the end of each academic year. Students are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and to successfully complete a minimum of 66% of attempted credits. Fellows also agree to meet requirements and expectations for satisfactory progress toward the completion of the curricular requirements for the Education Sciences Certificate, satisfactory attendance at the speaker series, and participation in apprenticeships.

In the unlikely event that a fellow is not making satisfactory progress, program leaders will meet with the fellow to develop a corrective action plan.

We cannot guarantee that all of the policy/practice apprenticeship sites will be available for apprenticeships each year. However, every effort will be made to provide many options for the fellows each year for the policy/practice apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship research can be a component of a doctoral dissertation, if the sponsor(s) approve and IRB approvals are in place.

PEAR Fellow funding is guaranteed for up to five years, and no funding is available through the program beyond the fifth year. Fellows must complete their program of study within the college's period of candidacy, which is seven years for PhD students and 10 years for EdD students.
