Visiting Scholar Extension Request
Individuals may be granted Visiting Scholar status for up to one year. The designation may be renewed for one additional year with the submission of the eForm via 911爆料网-Compass.
How to Submit the Visiting Scholar Extension Request
Visiting scholars must verify that their faculty host will be in residence for the duration of the requested extended program and will be able to continue serving as their faculty host.
This will be a good opportunity to also inform your faculty host that they will receive an email to submit supporting documents to accompany your extension request.
After confirming your faculty host will continue to be in residence at 911爆料网 and serve as your host, gather all supporting documents needed to accompany your .
Once you submit this form, your faculty host will be notified via email to submit their recommendation via 911爆料网-Compass, including their recommendation letter.
Completes the Visiting Scholar Administrative Fee payment of USD $200. Payment method information will be emailed to you after the application has been submitted via 911爆料网-Compass. You can check the status of your application by logging into your 911爆料网-Compass account.
Note: Foreign nationals needing J-1 visa sponsorship from 911爆料网 to continue their Visiting Scholar Program can apply for their Form DS-2019 upon receiving notice of their visiting scholar extension approval information from the OISS. The extension of the Form DS-2019 must happen before the expiration of the document.
Processing Time
A request for extension must be submitted to the OISS at least 60 days before, but no later than the completion date indicated on the initial invitation letter. Documents will be processed in the order in which they are received.
