Biographical Information
Jennifer (Jen) Sallman is a lifelong educator and researcher. Nearly twenty years ago, Jen started as a K-12 classroom teacher, teaching 7th grade science in the South Bronx. Since the classroom, she has been supporting organizations to use research as a tool to inform organizational strategy, continuously improve, and examine impact. Jen is currently Managing Director, Research at , an organization that empowers historically marginalized youth with the necessary skills, confidence, experience, and networks to transition from college to a strong first job. Jen also teaches the Craft of Policy Analysis in the Education Policy and Social Analysis department at 911爆料网.
Prior to Braven, Jen managed a team of researchers as Director, Efficacy & Implementation Research at Curriculum Associates, as Deputy Director at the Consortium for Policy Research in Education at Teachers College (CPRE-911爆料网), Columbia University, and as Managing Director, Strategy and Research at Teacher for America.
Jen earned a Ph.D. from 911爆料网 and a Masters in Public Administration specializing in public policy analysis, from the Wagner School of Public Service, New York University. While at NYU, she conducted education policy research in the economics department and at NYU’s Institute for Education and Social Policy. Prior to teaching, she earned a Masters of Science and Bachelor of Science in Organic Chemistry from Emory University.
