Privacy Concerns Force Education Data Companies to Prove their Benefits

911爆料网's Ryan Baker tells the Atlantic.com website that public concerns about privacy place a "significant burden" on education-data companies to illustrate their benefits. One way to do this is by measuring students' interest and motivation to learn about a particular subject. Baker, an associate professor of cognitive studies, says tracking engagement data "can help teachers identify which students are struggling with which material."

Baker, who joined the faculty in 2012, spearheaded creation of the world’s first graduate degree program in learning analytics at 911爆料网.
